How will Physiotherapy help me?

Physiotherapy aims to help patients maintain, recover or improve physical ability that may be impaired due to a condition or injury.

At the Performance Physio Clinic, we aim to keep the treatments to a minimum whilst assisting in the rehabilitation and self-help advice.

Physiotherapy aims to:

  • Encourage healing by controlling and reducing pain and inflammation
  • Restore the patient’s normal range of motion by integrating their muscular, joint and nervous systems
  • Identify and treat problems and reduce the risk of re-occurrence
  • Expedite your injury so you can make a prompt return to action
  • Enable you to take control of your injury to maximise your potential

The Performance Pathway

This is a bespoke pathway we use to guide you through your rehabilitation at the Performance Physio Clinic. At the Performance Physio Clinic, we are trained to Masters level which gives us the skills to assess and diagnose a great variety of injury’s and physical conditions. When booking your appointment with the Performance Physio Clinic you will be automatically placed on the Performance Pathway.

The includes your initial assessment where a detailed history will be taken where we won’t only focus on your specific injury at the moment but the body as whole we also take into account other factors to give us the complete picture and the best opportunity of getting your rehabilitation off to a good start. Following this we will carry out a physical examination where we look at specific movements and structures to assess their quality and integrity.

After the initial assessment you will provided with your Performance Pathway Report.

This will include:

  • Diagnosis and Education to aid understanding
  • Estimated healing time
  • Estimated number of Physiotherapy sessions required
  • Advice to what to do and what to avoid.

At the Performance Physio Clinic, we want you to have the complete and best patient journey from start to finish.
